Membership Dues Update- Effective January 2026

Beginning during the 2026 Membership Renewal, ILA membership dues will increase by $10.This is the first dues adjustment in more than five years. 


As the Association continues to experience rising costs in management, event planning, and technology, this modest increase will help sustain the programs, advocacy, and professional development

opportunities that benefit all members. 

We appreciate your understanding and continued support— just as each of us balances our own budgets, this adjustment ensures ILA can continue to grow and serve Iowa’s library community effectively. 


We encourage members to get involved and join a committee, participate in leadership, and help drive the future of ILA. Together, we can continue to strengthen and advance libraries across Iowa.

Iowa's libraries are vital community resources, used by more than one million Iowans to learn, to listen, to explore, and to be inspired. Libraries educate and enrich us all, helping our families and schools raise the citizens of tomorrow and better inform and empower those of today.

Payment of dues or other contributions to ILA are not tax deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. They may, however, be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses to the extent not allocated to lobbying expenditures. ILA estimates that the non-deductible portion of your dues for 2024 is 27%.

Welcome to our new membership system. Here are steps to help guide you through your renewal process.

  1. Click on the "Request Password" and enter the email address you joined with.
  2. Sign in using your email and temporary password you received in your email.
  3. Review and update your demographic information.
  4. Select your membership and any subdivisions.
  5. Select Pay By Check options or Pay by CC options.
  6. If selecting Pay By Check also select "Email me an invoice for payment" option.
  7. Click the "Continue" button below to process the renewal.
  8. If you are needing an invoice to process your payment, a confirmation receipt with an invoice will be emailed to you once the membership has been processed. Use this email to submit to your finance department for payment.
  9. If you did not receive a confirmation email with an invoice you have a self-service feature to view, print or email the invoice and any previous transactions by accessing the Profile tab.
